I was the wicket!
Six-years old Gopal was playing in park
With his friends, the rubber ball cricket
His 4-years old brother wanted to join
And made known his intention with all signs.
A older man was sitting in the park was watching,
How Gopal's brother shouted and screamed to be allowed
Then after some time he noticed him right behind batsman
So he thought he was allowed to play the game.
When play ended seeing the happy little boy near,
Old man asked, “Were you the wicket-keeper?”,
The boy with glee replied, “No Uncle, My brother told me that,
If ball hit me, the batsman would be out!.”

Out of blue solution
Gopal was watching T.V. in morn
After repeatedly warning his 5 years old son
Who was doing lot of mischief
And troubling his wife.
He was not sitting in one place,
His wife was finding hard his problem to face
While an adhesive Ad in T.V. caught Gopal’s eye
Which proclaimed it remains stuck till you die.
Gopal’s wife asked him, his son to look after
As lot of other chores she had to take care
Gopal replied, “Seat him atop of adhesive can
Then other work to do you can!

Nothing works like an idiot!
In college Gopal was heroic, smart and genius
And he was hated by all his classmates
He wanted to be among friends
So with new identity and mission he lands.
Instead of closing eyes, ears and mouth from evil
And being negative about our value system
He replaced Gandhiji’s three monkeys icon
By positive laughing at himself icon.
His friends looked at him with pity
And came forward to help him instantly
As they thought he was an idiot and they were wise;
Gopal was happy his new formula worked precise.
Child's Intelligence
Smitha with her Papa
Was going on a ride
Down the country side.
The little girl was singing
And, beauty of verdant fields enjoying.
Her Papa glanced at the fuel gauge,
She noticed worried look on his face.
The needle was hovering around ‘E’,
And wondered what she realized why he couldn’t see.
Smitha said with glee,
“There is ‘E’nough petrol
to reach granny’s house;
When fuel is not ‘F’inished,
Let us this joy ride cherish!.
Attention to detail!
Who used to be always stubborn
She had a hard time bringing him up
As she couldn’t make his behaviour to stop.
In a school for a function
Geetha heard her son saying there was a photo session
While she was preparing breakfast
After waking up late making up for the time lost.
Her son said, “The photo will be of passport size,
But I want to have a photo covering my shoes.”
Fed up Geetha with anger replied,
“Then hold the shoes over your head!”

The unfinished fight in paper
10 years old Gopal used to fight with his sister,
His mother had hard time bringing them up together
Gopal was naughty in school as well;
One day his teacher told a story on “Heavy weight fight” to write well.
Gopal began to write with great interest
As in TV he always used to watch the fights
But he did not have the talent to go further
With loss of words to explain better.
The teacher started to read his assignment
And asked why it tailed off with resent
Nifty Gopal replied, “Ah, sir it was getting late you see,
As my mother stopped the fight at the end of round three!

A Fine Line
There are more fish in the pond
And the pond has expanded its social boundaries
Gopal tried to spread the emotional investments across the spaces
By being single, on arrival of a new girl in his life.
Three weeks after the celebration of our nations republic day
Gopal decided his D-day is the V-Day
But art of striking conversation with a girl was beyond him from childhood,
Being used to watching movies with Mangalam sound track in the end.
Gopal being a charming light hearted man
All he could do is take out his pen
And explore power of love, its random, transitory and elusive nature
By sincerely writing his feelings on this paper.

The fall and downfall of Tiger woods
Tiger woods was addicted to women
With his money chicks were in his den
Evading his guilt with his wife
By saying he is only human.
Ordinary man has thousands of photographs
But not in magazines, online, television or newspapers
His family album is precious to his family
But Tiger hits thousands of chicks with his photos.
Honest man stand tall,
While cheats like nine pins fall
As for their money chicks fall
Which in the end is their own downfall.

The Evergreen Valentine’s Day
Gopal loved a girl in school
And around her he used to fool
But he was afraid to say
Like other boys and girls in someway.
Old days love was a crime next to murder
And for people in streets to speak it was fodder
Despite the threat of being whipped
Some stood tall declaring love.
By sending SMS Gopal committed the crime
Receiving the reply, “Sure”, his face brightened
like a thousand watt bulb
As he sent, “I like you very much”,
Glowing literally with ‘surya koti sama praba ‘, touch.

Check anywhere but there!
Gopal always invested in shares
Whether he gained money he did not care
It was very hard for his wife to bear
And tried her views to make aware.
The Global market dipped due to recession
But Gopal was on his addictive mission
And he lost most of his money
Becoming ill having left with few penny.
Gopal’s wife took him to doctor
To conduct tests to know what was the matter,
Complaining, “I got his heart, lung, kidney, liver examined,
Which is normal, but he refuses to have his head examined!”
