Making stand out

writing 4 kids

Gopal’s mother went to men’s clothing store
As her son’s school day function was coming near
She used to haggle a lot before purchase
And her wrath shopkeeper had to face.

She wanted to buy a tie,
So shopkeeper displayed all that in his shop lie
But she went thorough all failing to make a decision
Then the shopkeeper asked what was the reason.

She said, “I want a tie that would make my
son among audience stand out,
And that is what I am out.”
“Ma’am,” he replied, “any tie makes the audience eyes stand out,
If you tie around your son’s neck tight!.”

Not Mine!

writing 4 kids

5 years old Gopal was ill
So his mother decided to take him to hospital
As Gopal was afraid of doctors
Taking him for his mother was a big ordeal.

She got Gopal into a vehicle
And brought him to hospital
Amid crying and shouting
Doctor in examination table seated him.

With a smile doctor asked,
“Hmm… which shoulder should I give injection”,
Terrified Gopal at once replied,
“Your shoulder is the one!.”

Never Crossing the Beginning Line

writing 4 kids

Gopal and Sham were friends
Who knew each other both ends,
Sham was always lazy
While Gopal used to keep himself busy.

One day from school while walking back home
They discussed the need to start an exercise program
As Sham was stout,
Gopal asked Sham to do some thing to remain fit.

Sham said, “I swim 4days a week,
And run on remaining 3 days.”
Surprised Gopal enquired, “How long have you been doing this?”
He replied, “oh, I don’t start until next week!.”

How is India today?

writing 4 kids

India speeds on, in the path
With precious ancient moral lost
Gopal was traveling in a train
Which stopped at a platform.

He left the seat to fill his water bottle
Leaving his ‘India Today’ magazine in the seat,
In that unreserved compartment someone else occupied
A minute later after returning leaving Gopal petrified.

“Oh, no, I’ve lost my seat!”, Gopal thought
And asked a co-passenger, “And where’s my India Today?
“Son”, an elderly man, who’d seen it all,
Replied, “This is India today!.”

An Idea to send the lecturer packing

writing 4 kids

Gopal was a college student
And he lacked patience
To listening to boring lectures
From aged absent minded professors.

Gopal was sitting in afternoon class
Struggling to avoid falling asleep
Suddenly the professor got a call from office
And he had to leave the place.

Gopal sighed with relief
But professor came back to class
And inquired “Now, where was I?”
Instantly Gopal replied, “Right near the end!.”
